Hero Pig Tracks Missing Cat

The Perry Hill Farm in Bedford, N.H., has seen better days. The full-service equestrian academy once boasted an indoor arena space, housed stalls for 32 horses, and a party room where customers once celebrated birthdays and where summer campers played. Since a devastating Sept. 6 fire, however, all those things are gone. Fourteen horses were lost along with a family of three cats. Or so it seemed.

Enter Colby, the farm’s mascot and family pet, a 1,000 pound pig. Like the farm, Colby looks like her best days are behind her. She is 9-years-old, rather old for a pig, and never in a hurry to get anywhere.

So, three days after the fire, when Colby finished her breakfast and began to trot eagerly into some nearby woods, her caregivers became curious and decided to follow her.

Richmond firefighters find a pig in burning house




Richmond firefighters got more than they bargained for late Monday when they found a squealing 200-pound potbelly pig in a burning home’s garage.

Firefighters were responding to a fire on the 800 block of South 46th Street, said Rico Rincon, a fire department spokesman. They met the homeowner outside who said pets were still inside, Rincon said.

Worker Set Fire To Navy Submarine To Get Out Of Work Early

Navy investigators have determined that a civilian laborer set a fire that caused $400 million in damage to a nuclear-powered submarine because he had anxiety and wanted to get out of work early.

Casey James Fury of Portsmouth, N.H., faces up to life in prison if convicted of two counts of arson in the fire aboard the USS Miami attack submarine while it was in dry dock May 23 and a second blaze outside the sub on June 16.

Obese woman's body fat burns down Austrian crematorium








A DEVASTATING fire which gutted a crematorium in southern Austria was caused by an obese woman's excessive body fat blocking an air filter, Austrian public broadcaster ORF reported.

The fire occurred at the facility in the city of Graz in mid-April. Firefighters had trouble extinguishing the blaze due to a thick layer of insulation lining the crematorium's walls.
