Woman finds ex-boyfriend living in her attic

A Rock Hill, N.C. woman knew something was in her attic when she heard a thump and then some nails started popping out from the ceiling of her bedroom one night.

The mother of five thought it might be an animal of some sort and sent her older sons and nephew to check it out, she told WCNC-TV in Charlotte.

 She told the Charlotte Observer that she felt "there was some poltergeist stuff going on." And what they found was surprising. It wasn't an animal. It was the woman's ex-boyfriend.

Texas man barks at neighbor, eats dog

A Waco resident has been charged with cruelty to a nonlivestock animal in an incident in which a man claiming to be on a synthetic form of marijuana called K-2 chased a neighbor while barking and growling and then attacked a family dog, which he beat, strangled and then started to eat, KWTX-TV is reporting.

Michael Terron Daniel, 22, was arrested Monday without incident, the Waco station says.

On June 14, a caller told police that a man was “going crazy,” KWTX says. The man, who claimed to have ingested K-2, “got down on his hands and knees and chased a neighbor while barking and growling like a dog,” a witness told police.

A Tacoma, Wash., mom is seeing red after her fair-skinned daughters returned home from school severely sunburned.

Violet and Zoe Michener were outside for five hours during the school's year-end 'Field Day, and when they returned home, they had burns and blisters, according to Jesse Michener. They appeared to be in so much pain that she had to take them to a local hospital for treatment.

The school district's policy only allows for sunscreen to be applied when the student has a signed doctor's note giving the okay, because the district considers sunscreen a medication. A school nurse and counselor forced an 8-year-old Parker County boy to bathe after telling him he "smelled badly, was dirty and had bad hygiene," according to a lawsuit filed Thursday.

One third of young adults do not know that eggs come from chickens, according to a survey. The poll of 2,000 people conducted by charity LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) found that 33% of young adults aged between 16 and 23 were unaware of where eggs come from. 11% answered that eggs are produced from wheat or maize.
